Meet Marla
Marla Lindstrom Benroth is the founder of Tell Your God Story, LLC, and an award-winning writing coach, mentor, and book project manager. She is passionate about helping people identify how God is at work in their lives and telling those stories in creative, captivating ways that draw people to Jesus.
She has written and project managed creative nonfiction books and memoirs along with dozens of cover stories, feature stories and profiles. She delights in writing her own personal faith journey in journals that no one will ever read!
Marla’s greatest joy is walking alongside others as they discover their voice, use their God-given gifts, and experience the deep fulfillment of seeing their personal stories come together to touch others’ lives.

Marla served on the leadership team for Writers on the Rock, and led workshops and facilitated a thriving North Metro Denver WOTR writing group focused on developing strong, meaningful storytelling and getting published.
During her years with the Christian book company Good Catch Publishing (2008–2016), Marla managed 28 book projects which included more than 200 true short stories that told of Jesus’ redemptive power in healings, accidents, from selling and addiction to drugs and porn, adoptions, near-suicides, crime, deep pain from divorce, brokenness in relationships and any topic you can imagine! She worked with veteran writers, and coached more than 50 on-boarding writers how to use fresh, creative language to captivate readers with true, redemptive stories of restoration that steal the heart.
Her book Unmasked received Book of the Year honors, and she was also awarded for excellence in back-cover copy through Words for the Journey.
Before all those, she joined an organization passionate about telling family stories: The Association of Personal Historians (APH) and delved into learning more at their national convention in Nashville and writing family stories for her family and others.
She has a degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas, broadcast experience from a Denver-area teaching TV program called Faith Alive! She currently directs the Livestream “God Story” of her church’s worship service and will be launching another book project in the fall of 2026.Marla brings together those with professional expertise and deep faith to help others tell stories through video, art, songs, and other ways that point to God’s mysterious and awesome ways of goodness and grace.
